Beginner or experienced yogis, everyone can benefit from this class.
Following the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, this class will focus on one category of poses (standing, forward extension, back extension, and restorative with pranayama) each week. Attention to alignment is a main emphasis in the Iyengar teaching method and to this end a variety of props will be used: blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, access to a wall or closed door, and a chair. Alternative props will be suggested for students who do not have these items available since many objects in our daily lives can perform the function desired.
Props: Two yoga blocks; a belt or strap 6-ft to 8-ft in length (the longer the better!); a yoga bolster; access to a wall or closed door, and a chair.
