Emily began teaching yoga in 2012, after completing her first 200-hour yoga teacher training with Dr. Justine Lemos, PhD and Scott Miller of Western Yoga College based in Southern California. She finished her 300-hour teacher training during 2018-19, focusing on the relationship of the Vedic sciences: Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology. This training truly connected her to a yogic lifestyle, beyond the mat.
Over the years, Emily has shifted gears from her original love of Ashtanga Yoga, having trained in Restorative and Yin Yoga, Gentle Hatha, Pre and Post-natal Yoga, Mantra, Tantra and most recently, the Kundalini Awakening Process as taught by Glen Morris.
She remains a forever student of Yoga and Ayurveda, and believes that we have the immense capacity for healing and happiness within ourselves, through compassion, understanding and conscious awareness. She loves to align with the energy of the Moon, and always looks to nature for inspiration for her teachings.
Emily resides along the Mendocino Coast in Northern California, in a magical Redwood forest by the Pacific Ocean. She owns Sutras Yoga Studio in Anchor Bay Village, teaches private yoga online and can’t wait to return to in person classes when it’s appropriate. When she’s not teaching or doing yoga, you can find her snuggling her kitty, growing a garden of food and medicinal plants, walking the remote beaches, moon bathing, or mushroom foraging in the forest.
Join her for Gentle Vinyasa Flow classes on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
Emily is available for private group instruction.
